Get the Restoration Started with Majic Paints

First, know your product. The correct truck & implement enamel is a hard enamel with exceptional adhesion and approved by the FDA for use in federally-inspected meat and poultry product plants. The perfect choice is Majic Paint’s Tractor, Truck, & Implement Enamel, which comes in a variety of colors for every farm-related need.

Preparation

Before applying your Majic Paints, you need to sand all rust and stains from the tractor with a steel brush and sandpaper. Use paint thinner to remove any oil or grease stains. When you have the metal smooth and blemish free, go over any places needing primer with rust proof primer paint. Let the primer dry while you prepare the paint for application.

Remove the wheels and bumper for easier cleaning, sanding, and painting.

Painting by Brush or Pad

Open the paint and stir thoroughly but do not ever thin if you are using a brush, roller, or paint pad. Apply thin coats of paint and let it dry between each. It is recommended to avoid painting if the temperature is below 50 degrees Fahrenheit or if the tractor is in full sun. If your tractor was initially an unpainted surface, apply two coats; for best results you can sand lightly between coats. Allow at least 24 hours after the final coat and then, for higher gloss and hardness, add Majic Catalyst Hardener #8-0950-4. The hardener also hastens the overall paint drying time.

Painting by Spray

To employ spray as a method for painting, mix one pint of Majic Reducer to one gallon of Majic Town and Country Tractor paint, and pour the blend into the sprayer. Apply thick coats of paint and let it dry between coats, then follow the remainder of the instructions as listed above for painting by brush or pad. After the tractor has received sufficient coats and hardener, it is suggested you wait 24 hours before taking the tractor out to work.

FYI: Remember that when you scrape or sand paint chips or rust, lead can be released that enters your lungs if not protected with a respirator approved by NIOSH. For further painting information or answers to questions, contact Majic at 1-800-848-1898.
