When a tractor is starting to look old and worn-out, it does not mean it is time to retire the machine. If the tractor is still working, a little bit of Majic Paint might be the perfect solution. With a little preparation and Tractor, Truck & Implement Enamel, you can make that old tractor look fresh and new.

Prepare the Surface

Any paint job requires preparation, though the amount of preparation will depend on how you want the finished product to appear. A simple touch-up may not require you to strip the current paint, but we recommend the removal of any previous paint for a complete overhaul of the outer appearance.

Start with a thorough cleaning. Remove any dirt, grit or particles that are on the tractor. We suggest stripping the old paint off the tractor with 80 grit sandpaper until the surface is smooth to ensure that it is ready for the Tractor, Truck & Implement Enamel.

Paint the Tractor

Paint the tractor with thin coats of Majic Paint. Cover the entire surface with a thin layer of Majic Paint, and then allow the surface to dry for 24 hours. Apply a second coat in a thin layer. Repeat the process until it looks as beautiful as it did when the tractor was new.

In general, you will want at least three coats before the final product will be acceptable. Working in thin layers and allowing them to dry for 24 hours between each layer will ensure that the final product is as smooth as possible. Do not apply a thick layer to the tractor because this can cause the enamel to run, or it may dry in clumps. You will get the best results when the surface is smooth and the enamel is applied in several thin coats.

Making an old tractor look like it is new requires a new coat of paint. It is the dingy paint that ages the machine, so a fresh layer of paint will make your tractor look as good as it did on the day it came home.
